Why do websites need ongoing care?
A great website isn't something you launch and never think about again. Behind the scenes, WordPress, themes and plugins are regularly updated to keep your website secure, stable and performing as they should.
Keeping up with these updates helps prevent security vulnerabilities, broken features and unexpected issues that could affect your visitors or your business.
Regular website care gives you peace of mind, knowing your website is maintained, reliable and ready to support your business whenever your customers need it.
Who Are These Site Care Plans For?
These care plans are designed for Australian service-based businesses and solopreneurs that want reliable website maintenance for their self-hosted WordPress websites, on shared hosting plans.
NOTE: This is not for those expecting full-scale SEO or marketing management services.
Do I have to sign a lock-in contract?
There are no fixed-term lock-in contracts for maintenance plans. They're invoiced month to month (automated to go out on the 19th), so you can cancel anytime with a 30-day written notice.
However, before engaging with ACT Websites for WordPress maintenance services, you'll be required to sign a service agreement outlining the terms and conditions of services provided. This ensures we are on the same page before services can commence.
The good news is that your price is locked in for a whole year from the date you sign up. So it's guaranteed not to go up in that first year.
When Are updates made and how often?
Manual maintenance and checks are typically carried out once a month, and a report is sent to the client via email.
Plugin and theme updates are scheduled to be carried out at 1:00 am (on a weekly basis) to prevent your website going into maintenance mode during business hours, or when people are most likely to be using your site.
Small content updates are completed within your monthly support allocation (Essential Care and Thrive Professional Plans) and are typically actioned within 1–5 business days.
What are my payment options?
For your convenience, I offer two payment options for maintenance and keyword ranking plans.
- Direct Deposit: Pay directly into my bank account to avoid credit card fees and surcharges.
- Set Up Direct Debit: The customer may use the direct debit option within their bank account to set up hassle-free regular payments.
- Online Payments: Pay with your credit or debit cards. Stripe has a low 1.7% surcharge plus 30 cents per transaction.

Define 'Maintenance support or content updates?'
Maintenance support covers minor website issues, plugin conflicts, restoring from backups, fixing layout problems caused by updates, and small technical adjustments. It does not include new features, redesigns, malware removal, hacked websites, or any other work.
For example:
- Simply Updates: 15 minutes included
- Essential Care: 30 minutes included
- Thrive: 60 minutes included
That time can be used for:
- Fixing a plugin issue
- Updating text
- Replacing images
- Adjusting a contact form
- Minor layout tweaks

Can you create a custom site care plan?
For those who would like to add another feature, or remove features that aren't required, contact me to discuss your requirements and options to customise a plan that would work best for your business.
What if I miss a payment?
Please note that if two payments are missed, your service may be cancelled. Before that happens, I’ll always email you to give you the chance to settle the account or cancel your plan if needed.
If there’s no response, the service will be cancelled automatically. My goal is to keep you informed at every step so you always know where things stand and have full control over your options.
I offer automatic payments via bank direct debit, making it simple and stress-free to stay on top of your payments without missing a due date.
